The Sheffield Rabbit Diaries

Fred is a 5 year old Netherland dwarf lop cross. I got him when he was 4 weeks old and fitted on the palm of my hand! (I’ve since learned that he was too young to be separated from his mum, oops.) I got him from a very dodgy place that I went to with a friend who was getting a bunny. I wasn’t intending to get one myself, so I went home with two. They were being kept in a travel box! It was disgraceful. Fred lived with his sister George (we thought she was a boy when we named her!) until she died last year from a bowel ischaemia. He’s been on his own since then. We’ve tried to introduce him to Freda but they both sulked and are currently in separate rooms and seem much happier for it! Unfortunately Fred has a bad leg at the moment and the vet doesn’t know what is wrong with it. He’s still eating and hopping happily though so we’re waiting and watching for now.
